Cold Weather Camping Tips
Planning to travel for a camping trip. Don’t think cold weather camping could be fun? Winter hiking and trekking at high altitude and the rugged Karakoram and Himalayan snow-capped mountains to camp a few miles from home, require a layer of clothing, bedding, and a good sturdy cold weather tent.
You may want to incorporate a bowhunting trip with a winter camping outing.
Modern convertibles, four-season expedition tent for protection against strong winds and snow in a good size on the weight. A slight, “high tech” tent camping in cold weather, with durable material and stalks, superior ventilation, small package size-up, but with ample interior space can be rented or purchased.
Seasonal Notes Tent
Tent camping in cold weather with a “4-season” rating will provide excellent cover for the countries largest and winter camping. Compared to 3-season and summer tents, winterized tents feature fabric thicker and stronger poles to withstand stronger winds and heavier snow. If you like camping this year, consider a “convertible” tent, tent 4 seasons that turns into a tent three seasons, removing (or extract) of the panels.
Convertible tents are generally not as robust as the 4-season tents. For extreme conditions of winter, or year in high altitude, you must have an “escalation” or “shipping” 4-season tent. With additional poles, heavier materials, fewer sections, reinforced flap and loops for ropes and tent pegs expedition designed to withstand blizzard conditions with near hurricane force winds.
